Do you ever shop around for translation quotes without knowing what you're comparing?
  Some things to know before your next translation:

1. Translations by a single translator without revision by a separate editor put your authenticity at risk.
   Have you ever asked someone to look over something you've written and were surprised by the mistakes you simply missed?  It's surprising what can escape your notice---and that's in your native language.
   
   When you add to that process a second language but subtract the second editor, you open the door
   for spelling, grammar, concordance and tone errors:  A sole-translator translation puts your message
   in jeopardy and your reputation on the line.
   

2. Big companies outsource large translation jobs to multiple freelance translators who may or may not
   even consult with one another on the same project. This compromises the integrity of your translation.

3. Large companies have lots of overhead. The only way large companies can make a profit from your
   translation is by charging you a lot or by paying translators very little.  Neither is good for you or for
   your translation.
